Better Than Milk Vegan Beverage Mix, Soy, Chocolate, 29.4-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 2) I used to buy this some years ago at Hannaford's grocery in North Carolina until we moved away, then I couldn't find it anymore and forgot the name. This product is just as I remembered: creamy and delicious. It can be mixed as an 8 ounce serving or quart size. It will settle after preparation, which may look unappatizing, just give it a good shake before serving. The benefit of a canister lies in the option to use just the right amount to mix to taste, more or less, as desired. When I buy commercially prepared soymilk, it would always seem that I either wouldn't have enough to drink or that when I bought extra to compensate for not having enough, then it would be a race to consume it before it might spoil. The canister avoids waste or spoilage. The product blends well enough for me stirring by hand or shaking in a quart container, I don't mind the lumps. However, as the other reviewer stated, some may prefer to use a blender. I mix it directly with water and cereal, or in a glass for a single serving with water. I also use it for chocolate banana shakes. It is recommended served chilled, however, I enjoy it mixed straight away at room temperature, too. Reader Reviews We started using this in place of milk more than ten years ago. It is delicious either as a cold beverage, in cereal, making hot chocolate, or most any way that milk is used. The secret to mixing it is to put water (good water- not the chlorinated stuff) in a plastic bottle first, then add the Better Than Milk powder, two heaping tablespoons per quart of water, then shake until dissolved. Therefore you should use a container bigger than the amount of milk you are making, giving plenty of shake room in the container. Store in the fridge, and shake again briefly each time you use it. In our opinion it is tastier than milk! |
